Dutchess County is easily accessible by road and also by train.
On the west, near the Hudson, you can cruise up the
NY State Thruway and cross either at the Mid-Hudson
bridge
in Poughkeepsie, or use the Rhinebeck Bridge, farther north.
Most of Dutchess County is within 2 hours or NYC.
The Taconic State Parkway runs through
the middle
of Dutchess County, and Route 22 runs up the eastern border.
