Transportation in Dutchess County

Dutchess County is accessible by 2 trains, 2 highways,
2 major airports, a big county airport,
and many scenic country roads.

Trains
Amtrak runs up the Hudson on the western side
of Dutchess County from Penn Station in NYC.
Amtrak costs more and is less frequent.  

Metro North rail runs up the eastern border
from Grand Central. It runs often and on time.

Aviation
Newburgh airport has connecting flights
to many major airlines.
Albany airport is a big international airport.

Car travel
Dutchess County is very scenic,
so many people love to
drive around enjoying the views.
There are many country roads to try.

    On the western side is the NY State Thruway,
and in the middle is the Taconic State Parkway.

Taxi's  Limos  and  Buses
Poughkeepsie has many taxi's. 
 In rural areas there are several car services
and limousine companies.
There are interstate bus companies in the area, too.
